Hello, climate-concerned friends in East Gippsland!
Hopefully, you’ve all had a moment to draw breath and get ready for the next busy patch. While I’ve been away on holiday, a lot has been going on thanks to our amazing core group of EGCAN members promoting the transition to renewable electricity.
Recent Highlights & Activities

- Bairnsdale Library Display: An eye-catching foyer display set up by Jenny and Nola coincided with some fantastic free local sessions for the public.
- 1MillionWomen “ShePowers: Gather”: Hosted by Nola, this session focused on renewables. (Note: It is not too late to fill in their survey if you do it very soon!)
- John Gwyther’s Presentation: A brilliant and informative presentation explaining the latest on Australia’s energy transition, which even made the late news on Channel 7! A huge thank you to Angela for leading the organisation of this event.
- Yes2Renewables Workshop: Coco presented a workshop on renewables at the Eagle Point Hub in early September. This organisation does fantastic work, and regular monthly Zoom meetings connect people around Australia (held on the last Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm—reach out if you’d like the link).
- Environment Victoria: New corflute signs are now available to help spread the word!
- Meeting Notes: Thanks to Jenny for putting together the notes from our last meeting on September 1st.
